Current Status (As of June 2025)

All of the original textbook content is currently available online except for about 15% of the animated figures (interactive diagrams).

Available Chapters/Sections:

• Preface
• Acknowledgements
• Chapter 1: Getting Started
• Chapter 2: Form and Function
• Chapter 3: Statics
• Chapter 4: Dynamics
• Chapter 5: The Gas Exchanger (1 remaining interactive figure)
• Chapter 6: The Controller (except for interactive figures)
• Chapter 7: The Controller and Acid-Base Physiology
• Chapter 8: Respiratory Sensations
• Chapter 9: Exercise Physiology
• Glossary (and a new interactive Glossary Concept Map)

Most interactive figures associated with these chapters are functional, but ongoing testing and refinement occur.

Planned Content

We are actively working on converting the remaining interactive/animated figures from the original book:

• Chapter 5: The Gas Exchanger - 1 interactive figure to complete
• Chapter 6: The Controller - 3 interactive figures to complete

Estimated Timeline: We aim to complete the rest of the interactive figures by December 2025. Timelines are subject to change based on author availability. Updates will be noted here. Work will be posted on an ongoing basis as it is available.

Potential Future Enhancements

Beyond the core content, we are exploring potential future additions, such as:

• AI-powered Q&A features to ask questions about the text.
• Additional interactive simulations or case studies.
• Enhanced accessibility features.
